London Showed the World that it is the place to be in 2012!

What a fabulous firework display our city put on this New Years Eve.  Fireworks erupting from the tower of Big Ben as well as the stunning, but usual launch pad, of the London Eye.  250,000 lined the river banks to see the display, listen to the specially recorded music and join in the revelry.  However, surely the best place to be was on a boat on the river.

When the fireworks stopped 100′s of boats sounded their horns.  The party goers still toasting in 2012 with champagne and saying farewell to 2011.  Tickets sold out fast for this event and already, following the spectacle viewed by many TV viewers around the world, has seen a flurry of bookings for this 31 December 2012.  A  boat party is a sure way to be in the centre of it whilst enjoying the warmth and comfort of a “land based” venue.  Whilst December 31 2012 menu’s and prices may not have been finalised now is the time to get your name on the reservation list for a new year cruise.  Call 01342 820600 for more details.

New Year’s Eve London – River Cruise – Don’t leave it too late

We sold our last tickets by 28 December for the 2011 New Year’s Eve celebrations on the River Thames.  Don’t miss out on next year.  If you wish to privately hire a boat for a group of family and friends you will only be asked to pay a deposit initially of about £1,000, or approx £20 per person.  If you wish to put your name down for tickets to join others you can secure your place with an initial £10 deposit in Winter and £25 per ticket from April onwards.  If you have “missed the boat” literally this year add your name to our reserve list.  You never know what may happen and sometimes a group cannot make the event and will lose their money unless we can find someone to take them over.

Experience your own Winter Wonderland

As they’re usually so cold and dark, the winter months can be extremely depressing, although they really don’t have to be, as there are plenty of fun wintery things which you can do which can make the winter months a lot more bearable.

London can look extremely beautiful during the winter- especially at nightfall when you can see all of the capital’s lights twinkling away in the background. January definitely has to be one of the dullest and least eventful months of the year, as after all the fun and excitement of Christmas, and as there’s never much happening due to lack of funds, the first month of the year is often the worst one.

Putney to Blackfriars River Bus Service Saved for 2012!

21 December 2011 OFFICIAL PRESS RELEASE FROM LONDON RIVER SERVICES (part of TfL) Interim operator for Putney to Blackfriars River Bus service

Transport for London (TfL) has announced that they have been able to appoint a new operator to run the Putney to Blackfriars River Bus service in the New Year.   

Hundreds of Londoners use the service every day and many had expressed great concern that the service might end with the final Thames River Taxi service on 23 December. However Transport for London has now confirmed that Complete Pleasure Boats have been awarded a 6-month contract to operate the River Bus service from 3 January 2012. During that period Transport for London will finalise arrangements with an operator to take over the service on a longer term basis. 

Andy Griffiths Head of London River Services, said: “I am delighted that we are able to confirm Complete Pleasure Boats as the interim operator of this popular service and that we will be able to ensure uninterrupted services for our passengers in January. Negotiations continue to finalise arrangements with an operator for the longer term and we expect to award a longer-term contract in early 2012.”
